The Junior Tigers welcomes “Hockey Mom” Allyson Tufts, who will be sharing the life lessons she’s learned from watching her children play hockey. A Hong Kong exclusive, Allyson is the author of Lessons from Behind the Glass, a story about her journey through minor hockey told from the perspective of a hockey parent.
All season long, the Junior Tigers and Allyson will be teaming up to share Allyson’s journey, lessons learned and some practical advice for parents. The experiences and tips are relevant for parents of hockey players of all ages and of all levels of experience. Funny and light, Allyson’s stories will have you laughing one minute and thinking hard the next. Make sure to bookmark this page and visit it weekly, where we will post a link to a video or an article from Allyson.
The Junior Tigers are excited to be partnering with Allyson as we believe it’s important to have parent resources to help ensure that more hockey equals more fun – for both kids and their supportive parents. Playing hockey is a great way to learn sportsmanship, leadership and teamwork and these skills need to be displayed both on the ice and behind the glass.
Ahead of the first video, you can check out the teaser for Allyson's parent video series
A mother of two minor hockey players, Allyson has spent countless hours at the rink. She decided to write down her experiences to help deal with the stress that comes along with the joy of being a passionate hockey parent. Her story resonated with hockey parents around the world and she has now sold more than 3,000 copies of her book and was invited to speak by Tom Renney, the CEO of Hockey Canada to Hockey Canada’s Board of Directors and Senior Staff. She’s an expert on how parents can use their passion as a hockey parent in a positive way and she has travelled across Canada to share her advice and experiences. Now she’s sharing them with us in Hong Kong!
Allyson will be sharing advice and tips all season long so stay tuned and make sure to visit her website at www.lessonsfrombehindtheglass.com.
